Modern Bungalow Kitchen

This 1930's bungalow kitchen near DU in Denver required a total overhaul. The floor plan was tight without many options for improvement, so I sought to provide ample cabinet space while increasing the sense of size with open shelves and glass door cabinets.

The homeowners wanted to match the traditional style of the historic house, but with a modern and fun twist. That was achieved with concrete-look ceramic floor tile, charcoal gray quartz countertops, and bold splashes of color. Durability was key to accommodate 9 year old boy, dogs, and lots of coming and going. High contrast grout with matte white subway tile gives the space a liveliness that matches the active family who uses it. They contributed sweat equity by helping to lay flooring and painting.
